I received a lot of comments from the Dress Post, where I explained how my brand new, gorgeous Nicole Miller dress met with tragedy.
Well, two weeks later, it is still at the dry cleaners and I am heart broken. Guys, it was the best dress I have ever laid my grubby little paws on.
Today, I received an email from a representative of Nicole Miller sharing some important tips on how to get stains out of clothing. 2 weeks too late, but appreciated nevertheless. Now I know what to do if/when my dress comes back, still stained.
Ironic that I used this same tactic (albeit much more primal) with the original oil spill in my car. However, I doubt the toothbrush would have worked with 2 litres of olive oil.
Recently I was discussing my various plights with a good friend of mine and she said “Jessica, there are things in life that happen that only could happen to you…and I am grateful because that means they are not happening to me.”
Noted. I may be back with baby powder and a toothbrush.

I wore a rather lovley satin dress to my boyfriend’s work’s sporting dinner the other night and somehow ended up with a rather greasey stain on it so I’m about to tackle it with your method! *Fingers crossed* it’ll save me the dry cleaning fee otherwise. Thanks!
Good luck! And let me know how it goes!
Woah, this is so perfect for me beacuse I have a dress (orange in fact) that I want to bring to CO this weekend and don’t have time to get it dry cleaned and it has a stain, not sure if it’s oil but looks oily!! Thanks Jessica!
Best of luck with the stain! I know I will be falling back on it if the dry cleaners don’t get the stain out. Awesome – have a blast in Chicago!
And by CO I really mean Chicago, not Colorado, not sure why I wrote that.
