It is time to brag a little. To prove my ability to fight through adversity and win! Much like returning from battle with a token of victory, I am surfacing with my favourite quote from Midnight’s ChildrenĀ and from the last eighth of the book no less.

Also. I might say that it adequately sums up the entire book, so if you weren’t wanting to read it: You’re welcome.

Who what am I?

400395_10151189191475704_524150703_22606058_1672480128_nMy answer: I am the sum total of everything that went before me, of all I have been seen done, of everything done-to-me.

I am everyone everything whose being-in-the-world affected was affected by mine. I am anything that happens after I’ve gone which would not have happened if I had not come.

Nor am I particularly exceptional in this matter; each “I,” every one of the now-six-hundred-million-plus of us, contains a similar multitude.

I repeat for the last time: to understand me, you’ll have to swallow a world.

Now all I need to do to finish the process is watch the movie.
