Post Phoned Due to Weather
Some mornings, when my alarm goes off at 4:30 am, I truly hate the world.
Especially when I stayed up too late the night before and I didn’t sleep well because apparently three lamb chops and some greens were not enough food for me… [I am heartily making up for the fact that my mother never had teenaged sons.]
So, I haul myself laboriously out of bed, realize one of contacts spent the night chilling outside of the case and is now a dry, brittle puck of it’s once former glory.
I leave the house wearing a pair of ugly socks and foray onto the snow and ice crusted roads. [Aside: am I the only one that leaves the socks that go above your ankles until the last because they are wretched?]
I arrive at the gym after driving a blistering 40 km/hr the entire way there and am greeted by expectant faces, ready for a gruelling workout, but my muscles, my head and my moral are just..tired.
I get back home, brew some coffee, snap open my laptop to write a beautiful, in-depth post of an amazing What I am Loving Wednesday. The internet is down.
I get ready for work only to hear my littlest sister herald that she is hopelessly stuck in the driveway with my parent’s van.
Spend the morning shovelling.
[Also, I fell even FURTHER in love with my Prius this morning. While the van couldn't even move because of the snow, my little car sailed to and from the driveway, over banks of snow with no problem. Worth it.]
Remember between mental swear words that I had prayed, not 20 minutes earlier, that I would strive less to DO and strive more to BE. To be willing to cast aside a morning of work to help a family member. I really do believe that prayer is answered, but I am exhibit A that it doesn’t always turn out the way that you would have hoped.
Needless to say, between shovelling, the internet being down and furiously pushing at the bumper of a vehicle, I had zero time for a long, involved post that was going to happen today. In fact, I am publishing this a full 7 hours behind when I normally do.
So. What I’m Loving Wednesday is cancelled due to weather, but will be up and running on Friday.
To end on a positive note, my first issue of Elle came yesterday!
To be added to the post-Midnight’s Children lineup.
Tell me YOUR Wednesday weather stories!
