MOMENTUM MONDAY

Momentum Monday: I’m BACK!

Well hello there, friends!

It’s a holiday Monday here in Ontario and I am relaxing and enjoying some time with family and some people I consider family today!

It was a bit of a non-stop weekend here including a night out to celebrate my some of my best friends birthday’s! We met in university and have been like family ever since.

Rocking some phenomenal hair as I came straight from the gym..

I also had a chance to check out the new Goodness Me! store in Waterloo.

Everything was so shiny and new! It was well stocked and very intuitive to find my way around. Because this was their first week being open, they also were holding ALL THE SALES on things.

I think my favourite part of the store is the hot food bar and cafe in the back. They had a phenomenal menu and the prices were good.

And when I say good, I do mean it. A fair trade roast coffee was only $0.95.

If you live locally and want to check it out, email me for some sweet coupons at lacesandlattes[a]gmail.com. This store is located at 668 Erb St. W. in Waterloo but if you aren’t able to make it, you can still shop the deals online and get an extra 20% off with the code LACESLATTES.

Because today is a holiday, I took in an Above & Beyond show last night.

above and beyond

I have wanted to see them for over a year and their new album has been the feature of many of my recent long runs so it was so much fun to see them live.

Speaking of long runs, I did my longest run so far this past weekend. My coach gave me a double run to test out the leg and it would appear we are out of the woods in terms of injury! I did a snowy 21 KM in the morning and a speedy 11 KM in the afternoon for a happy 32 KM.

My friend, Vicki, posted this on my Strava and made my day. YES! I am back!

Last week’s training:

Monday: 30 minute weights (upper body and core)

Tuesday: 1 hour masters swim, 12 KM treadmill mile repeats

Wednesday: 1 hr spin class

Thursday: 1 hour masters swim, 10 KM treadmill run with 5 KM at threshold

Friday: 20 minutes stairmaster, 20 minutes rowing machine, 30 minutes back and chest workout.

Saturday: 21 KM outdoor long run, 11 KM indoor run

Sunday: rest/bit of core work

Before I head off to enjoy the rest of my holiday Monday, I wanted to announce the winner of my Love Grown Foods giveaway last week!

Nothing big this weekend – I watched some TV, coached track and ate food. I’m home alone with my 3 year old, so things pretty much revolve around him 🙂

I’m dying to check out Goodness Me. I love that more and more local options are popping up. I’ll send you an email for a coupon – that hot bar is calling my name 🙂
