March Coffee Date

Time for coffee, people.

Every month, I like to switch gears a little bit and have a chat about things in my life that have nothing to do with running. Basically whatever I would talk about to you if we were sitting across from each other at a coffee shop. The featured image always has a bit of a story and this month is linked to my current worst habit.

What I am Reading These Days

Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling is brilliant. I needed a really light, easy read for the road trip to NYC last weekend and this was perfect. It also had the most perfect description of groomsmen vs bridesmaids that I have ever stumbled across:

Current Worst Habit

Going through the McDonald’s drive through and ordering a small coffee. And only that.

No shame

Currently Listening To

Current favourite blog

plattsburgh3

Hollie from FuelledbyLOLZ. I’ve been following her since the first days of blogging in 2010 and it has been incredible to watch her evolution as a runner. She is currently running low-18 5 KM’s and getting speedier and speedier. Apparently the trick is to eat waffles for breakfast every. single. morning! 🙂

Current Success

Remember that dresser that was in shambles last month? I cleaned it. It literally took all month, but I made it happen.

Currently eating

Capture

An obscene amount of larabars. My current habit is to crumble them into quinoa and top it with almond milk. I never said I had normal tastebuds!

Current Drink

Rumble. Literally having at least one of these guys a day. Often in above quinoa – larabar mixture. #foodisfuel

Favourite Thing On the Internet This Month

Capture

Outstanding article on disordered eating and the running world.

Current Spontaneity

Deciding yesterday to race the Chilly 5 KM this weekend. Anyone else going to be there?

Shoe this Month

polar

I’ve been breaking in the New Balance 1400v3s for my shorter spring races. To say you feel fast in these is an understatement. I am wearing them at Chilly and crossing my fingers. Hoping to use it as a warm up/learning experience for my Laurier Loop 5 KM.

What do you have planned for the weekend?

What are your favourite things this month?

I couldn’t get into Mindy Kaling’s 2nd book. I liked her first one though. Good luck on the 5k! I’m not a fan of Hollie’s blog, she may be fast but she doesn’t seem to be a very person, she has twitter feuds and is snarky. I’d rather read someone who acts more responsible and mature.

NB 1400s are my racing shoes too! I love them. The best!
