April Coffee Date
Hi guys.
I promise I haven’t ghosted you. Things have been a little more hectic than normal so I have needed to ease up on a few things, including blogging. But today, I am back! And it seems like the perfect blog post to get you all caught up on life stuff.
Let’s do it.
What I am Reading
Tools of Titans. This is not a book you plow through. I read a little bit and focus on letting it sink in. I have been reading SO MANY good books lately and this book is like a combination of everything I love to read in one volume.
What I am Eating
Out. Due to a crazy work schedule, I literally have no been grocery shopping for the month of April yet. I am half tempted to see how long I can go but quite frankly, I am ready to eat a vegetable again.
Drinking
Soda Stream. I freaking love the bubbles.
Favourite Sports Product
This stuff.
Right now, I am in a build phase and although I am getting stronger, my muscles are needing a little TLC. I spray this Sierra Sil product on some of my sorer spots after hard training sessions. I am ramping up for the Mississauga half marathon at the beginning of May and am focusing on run workouts at the moment.
Favourite photo taken this month
On Easter Sunday, unlike most normal families who looked out the window at the dark clouds and heavy wind and returned to their ham and scalloped potatoes, my father had the conviction that we MUST go canoeing. So after eating our body weight in whoopie pies, we loaded up three canoes and headed to the Nith River and spent the afternoon on the river. I love this photo because it reminds me of this awesome day and the absolute absurdity of it all.
A cool thing I learned about
Spartan Race series has partnered with Marriott Rewards which makes it easy to travel, rack up points and own the podium. I really like obstacle course races and have plans to try my hand at a few more competitive, endurance events in the coming years.
Best thing on the internet this month.
This. By a land slide.
Something I am loving being a part of
This weekend, I am taking on two volunteering events. One is Saturday morning at 9 AM at Ziggy’s Cycle in Kitchener where pro triathlete, Alex Vanderlinden and I (very much not a pro triathlete) will be hosting a triathlon clinic and Q&A session with Liv Cycling. Come on out if you are local and available for some triathlon talk, some strong coffee and some great Liv Giant gear.
From there, I am headed to Dundas, ON to help with a Fast and Female event. It is a new and very important partnership to me that connects athletes with young females as mentors to encourage them to stay in sports. It is an organisation around empowering girls and fostering self esteem which is something that I want to make a difference in.
That’s pretty much it for this month! Have a fantastic weekend!
