Goals for February 2018
The best thing about it being February? It means that we made it through January!
I am not saying it wasn’t a good month, just that the weather in this part of the world has been ruthless. I have been perpetually mopping up salt from my floors, adding an extra layer to my clothes and have fallen on ice while running more times than I care to admit. For me, winter just kind of sucks but if my posting schedule of late is any indication, it is a busy enough time for me that escaping to a tropical climate is impossible.
Instead, I am setting some pretty great goals for February and making the most of it!
A Weekly Screen-Free Day
I addressed this on my Instagram Stories last week but this has been something I have been informally practising and I wanted to add some structure to it. As a PR professional who blogs as a hobby, I spend a lot of time in front of screen. I am committing to have a full day off a week where my phone is only used as a tool for navigation, as a camera or to answer phones. Essentially it will be a mini-social media and email detox each week.
Get my taxes done
I think this goal is forever baked into my February goal setting but I want to get it completed as soon as possible. Everything is a bit more complicated this year by adding real estate to the mix so I want to get out ahead of it. The good news is that I already met with my account and have the sheets ready, I just need to sit down and get it done.
Do a bench mark race
Every year around this time (ok, for the last 2), I have ran the Refridge-eighter 8 KM. It is a fun way to kick off the road racing season and is a good bench mark to see where I am at in fitness. I will be running that this weekend.
And that is it for February. I often will do up to 5 or 6 goals in a month but this year, I am trying to take a relaxed approach to goal setting. Not to mention, February is often an extremely busy month for my work so I need to put most of my focus into pushing forward some big projects.
What do you have planned for February?
OMG I don’t think I could do a totally screen free day! Ha! I mean, from the computer and TV, sure, no problem! But NOT my beloved phone, LMFAO!
I totally understand. The phone is so much more important than a TV!
Love the idea of screen-free day! I actually don’t have a TV at home but I’m always on my computer. I have tried it and it’s amazing! So much inspiration after a screen-free day!
I really love my TV for shows on the bike but I agree, it always feels better when you can take a break!
I want to set a goal for screen free days too!! Sometimes it’s so hhhaarrddd.
I hear ya, sister.
These sound like great goals! I definitely need to do a screen free day!
It is so huge in terms of a mental refresh for the week!
