This weekend I headed to OUA Championships to cheer on some of the top runners on our varsity team. It was a freezing, wet rainy day but well worth it to see our runners rock the race.
Part 2 of the cheer squad!
I also went to an art show with Jesse on Saturday and had dinner with his family.
Sunday we went to church and proceeded to spend a rainy afternoon at Starbucks drinking coffee and reading GQ (him) and Vogue (me). We also took in Wes Anderson’s new film, which may be my favourite one to date!
Have you seen MoonRise Kingdom? How do you find it compares to other Wes Anderson films?Jesse’s favourite movie of all time is ‘The Royal Tenenbaums’.
A week before school began, I had the same day off work as my mom.
Like a lovely daughter, I went with her to her appointment in Stratford. I had an ulterior motive, however, which was to spend the afternoon in Sputnik Cafe with an americano and the September issue of Vogue, lusting after Missoni style dresses and the colour blocking trend.
But first, I ducked into a cute little independent clothing shop that had the best dresses for a million dollars and this bag
I took this picture and missed half the purse so it is obviously better looking in real life..
which was also a million dollars.
I stared at it for a while in sheer desire and then realised I am poor and went and read for the afternoon.
Fast forward a week later. I was doing a mind numbing task at work and suddenly there were two words in my head: Matt and Nat. I couldn’t get them out of there so I decided it was high time for a ten minute break and I clicked on Kijiji.
There was my bag. Brand new. The owner had ordered it online and realized that it wasn’t leather (It’s a designer VEGAN company, silly!?!?) and sold it for an insultingly low price.
It is now a lovely case for my pure leather wallet.
Success story two.
I am a running snob when it comes to running shoes. I need stability. Looks. Support. Is that too much to ask?
Not for Saucony. Therefore, that is what I run and probably always will run in. But they are pretty expensive, I am a university student and I was tired of icing my shins because my shoes were on their way out.
Enter today. I found a brand new pair of Saucony runners. My size. For a niggle of the original cost because the previous owner had wide feet. I believe her exact wording on kijiji was that she had fat feet and “I was hoping to lose weight in my feet, but it didn’t happen.”
Anyways, she was a lovely girl and she gave me a better deal than she had listed.
I didn’t even feel the hill workout tonight, I was prancing.
For the record, I was not paid by Saucony, Vogue, Matt and Nat or Kijiji to say any of these nice things, but I am currently working on monetising my blog a bit because I am a poor university student and this way I can buy more great deals on Kijiji. So don’t hate me.
To lighten the blow to those of you who now view me as a corporate pig looking out only for myself, never fear….I have a GIVEAWAY happening this weekend. Check out Anastasia and lust over the pretties. All I can say is it was like Christmas getting my mail today!
