Goals for April 2017
What a fantastic March! I had a fantastic month and I owe it largely to getting a new team member at work. I know I don’t spend much time talking about work on the blog, but February was a brutal month being down a person and I actually had started to dread work every day because of the feeling that no matter how hard I worked or how much overtime I put in, I wouldn’t get caught up. It does show that there is such a thing as too much stimulus; I am loving being back in the groove where things just flow and I am busy but able to crush it rather than it crushing me.
That being said, I was able to accomplish a lot of my goals for March and I am proud.
Hustle at Work
Honestly, I am so excited by what I have been able to accomplish in March and it makes me thrilled about what is going to happen going forward. We are in the midst of our 108th Dealer Market and there is a lot of big announcements and presentations. Looking forward to a fantastic 2017 at work.
Do My Taxes
So I haven’t pressed the send button, but I have everything collected and have plans to send that this week. So basically I failed at this one.
Practice Some Self Care
Welp, I got a hair cut.

I told her to “cut off the dead” and now most of my hair is gone…
I have made appointments with my doctor, my massage therapist, my osteopath and have even set some steps in motion for some personal training that is going to correct a few imbalances so although I haven’t done everything I said I would, everything has been booked, it just hasn’t fallen in March.
COMMUNITY CHALLENGE – Smile at Strangers
I was so worried that I would sound like a terrible person last month but seriously, I sometimes just assume that people want to be left alone. I made a huge effort this month to say hi and smile to everyone and it was crazy how much it impacted my interactions. A small little thing but I am carrying it forward.
Ok. On to what I am thinking for April.
Spring Clean my Closet
I am planning on doing a DEEP CLEAN of my closets and also some stuff I don’t use often. Anyone need tri-bars or a pair of Christian Louboutins? Hit me up. They are among the list of things that are going.
Start bike commuting
I have a big green light from my coach to start riding my bike to work when I can. I know it sounds ridiculous to need to clear it with him, but I speak to him about almost any exercise I add into my training schedule from cycle commuting to a strength program because it all adds extra TSS which could affect my training plan. Thankfully I have the all clear so I have some awesome morning commutes ahead of me this spring.
Volunteer for a big event that promotes something I believe in
I am a female athlete ambassador for Fast and Female and I am so excited to volunteer at a local event. They stand for something I can really get behind which is self-esteem and females.
COMMUNITY CHALLENGE – Make your words count
So recently, I did a presentation to our board of directors on a big project I was in charge of. My boss was in the room and when we left, I asked for feedback. I was ready for some helpful input on what I could have done better with the project but instead, he just said that I said “um” a few times. Ummmmm. Yeah. That and a few other words have crept into my speech when I am telling stories as filler and I want to weed it all out. This month, I challenge you to get rid of a verbal tick that you have. Don’t think you have one? Ask someone who knows you well. A few of mine are starting more sentences that I care to mention with”Well, to be honest…”, answering “Precisely!” to most correct comments and saying “um” instead of quietly thinking. What are yours?
I am not setting more goals that this over the coming month. I am in a really good flow in terms of healthy habits and don’t want to mess up a good thing. Happy April, friends!
I LLAAVEE that smile at strangers challenge, I’m going to do that too!! GOOD IDEA! I love the hair snip too..you so cute.
Ha, thanks m’dear. It was a good way to make sure I was pushing a bit outside of my comfort zone.
Kick ass March and April looks like it is going to be great too! I am still very afraid of riding my bike out on the streets haha! But I love the idea of bike commuting. I think it is so cool that you have such a close relationship with your coach.
Honestly, that is key for me. If I wasn’t close with my coach, I don’t think it would work for me.
Such great goals!! I love the making your words count one, and I can absolutely think of ones I say far too much. I also am totally with you on the spring cleaning the closets thing. Right now I have a bunch of my clothes in bins that I’ve yet to bring out because it hasn’t been warm enough, but I KNOW there’s stuff in there I won’t wear this spring/summer that needs to go. Thanks for the reminder!
HAHA, anytime. The need to purge clothes is a real thing!
I love this! I see many bloggers who do these monthly posts reflecting on goals they set and then setting new ones and extending the old. I think it’s so great. You encourage others to set goals as well!
