Happy Halloween from Laces and Lattes!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! As I mentioned in my last post, I headed to the La Cloche Silhouette Trail with some friends and although it didn’t go QUITE as we planned, we ended up completing a gorgeous 60 KM hike and spent lots of time celebrating our achievement. (While also going to bed at 8 PM because I am basically 80 years old…but let’s not dwell on that).
You can read my account over at Canadian Running Magazine.
A few additional photos from the hike that are not in the feature:
To get ready for the event, I wanted to make sure my glycogen stores were topped up and when my favourite cereal flavour in the WHOLE WORLD came in the mail, I ate over half the box because that is an appropriate and adult thing to do. Chocolate and Vanilla Love Grown Cereal – my favourite thing since their release last year. (Nothing in this post is sponsored, I just have an unnatural love for this cereal.)
It was a fantastic weekend with some great runners. On the way back, they asked me what I would have done differently. Three things: I would like to do it in the late spring when there is more natural daylight. I would bring a back up light. I would have worn my trail shoes half a size larger – let’s just say, I will be painting my toenails black again…
I hope you all have a wonderful Halloween Monday!
Also, just a reminder that today is the LAST day to enter the Chopped Leaf Beet Bowl contest. Details here.
Are you dressing up for Halloween? If so, what are you going as?
What is your favourite cereal?
