November Coffee Date

I am just so sneaking this feature in on the last day of November. It is the rise of the holiday rush right now so things are picking up with work, with training and socially. Everything all at once.

This time of year can get a little crazy so let’s catch up and I’ll chatter to you as if you were sitting across from me and we were drinking a holiday beverage from a red cup.

novembercoffeedate

As always, no company I talk about in this feature pays me. I just really like this stuff.

 Currently Drinking: Holiday Starbucks Cups

I promise I am not sponsored by Starbucks, but if I was, consumption probably couldn’t differ based on the amount of coffee I drink from that place. All I am saying is that they HAVE me with their loyalty program – bringing gamification and challenges to purchasing almost always guarantees I will be all in. Recently, I was going on a hike with Mark and I requested Starbucks for the hike because the weekend challenge was to buy two holiday beverages. We ended up waiting for our drinks for 30 minutes and did part of our hike in the dark but you BETTER BELIEVE I GOT MY DOUBLE STARS. #millenial

Currently Eating: ALL THE SOLO ENERGY BARS.

solobar

I like protein bars but mostly, they are reserved for post workout. Science shows that protein immediate post workout aids in recovery and I choose to eat them then. I literally have never had the problem of wanting to eat them for dessert. But it will be after dinner and I will start thinking I want something sweet and I will not be able to get these little guys out of my mind!

They have two brand new flavours:

White Chocolate Cherry

Peanut Caramel Sea Salt, which didn't even make it to the photo without getting bitten. This one is (obviously) my favourite of the two.

They are low GI and don’t have that chalky taste which means I want them as a dessert. Every night. I like that they are locally produced and provide sustainable blood sugar levels.

Current nail colour: Black

Bringing back my high school days with this one. It is just so versatile because I need it to cover up the 3 black toenails I am currently rocking so it is just as easy to put them on my hands.

Currently reading: A Life Without Limits

I wrote about this book here but honestly, this book has been one of my best reads in a long time. Chrissie is so inspiring and the book offers a mix of her training, nutrition and race successes mixed in with a very inspiring autobiography.

Favourite photo I took this month:

I am a part of a dinner party club where we rotate houses, indulge in delicious things like homemade potstickers and fresh oysters and catch up with some of the coolest young professionals in town each month. I always end up segregating into the girl’s group because while the gentlemen discuss hockey, we discuss salaries of a coroner and what the latest street drugs are. (Not personal interest, there is a police officer and social services worker in our group.) I digress – the last party, the host had this awesome dog named Tux and I took this picture of him and die every time I look at it. This toy is called his purple bacon bit and he loves it.

Coolest experience in November:

As a part of our holiday campaign for work, we went to Anna Olson’s house to do a Facebook Live video of her making the best cake known to humankind.

Her husband, Michael Olson, is a chef as well and made a few “snacks” for us while we filmed. He also taught me how to reverse sear meat which I am  going to try and hopefully impress my group with at the next dinner party. Operating word is hopefully.

Sorry if you are vegetarian…

The segment went well and the outcome was amazing.

I laughed at this because #truth and also, this is an awesome podcast to check out.

I love this! I agree about the boobs lost to fitness. Been working with a trainer for eight weeks now: butt getting bigger and boobs shrinking. ??‍♀️?
