May Coffee Date

How is your May going, friends?

A glimpse of how my May is going is that I normally have this post go live in the first week of the month. But it just means that so many things are happening. Let’s chat.

What I am Reading These Days

Still How Bad Do You Want It? This has everything to do with how busy I am and nothing to do with how good the book is. I have a few on deck that I am excited to get working on. Hopefully there will be a change of scenery for June, but no promises…

Current Worst Habit

Not buying groceries. I normally grocery shop every Monday and buy the same things that work into the meal plan my sports nutritionist has made for me. Now, I will get halfway through a week and run out of an essential item but realize that if I actually GO to the grocery store, it will necessitate a full grocery shop, which would require me to be at home for a week. So I am consuming some very bland and extremely strange meals these days. On Monday night, I ate carrots dipped in peanut butter followed by a baked sweet potato. Survival skills on point.

Current Favourite Song

This is a tough one right now because there is SO MUCH GREAT music released right now. It is a toss up between One Dance from Drake’s new album and ANYTHING from Above & Beyond’s new acoustic album.

One of my favourite things I did this month

Source: Above and Beyond

I adore Above and Beyond and they came to Toronto Massey Hall for their acoustic tour. I went with Mark and we had the BEST SEATS. It was one of those concerts that you just kind of soak it all it all in and one of the best I have been to.

Current Drink

Coffee. So so much coffee.

Current Food

carrotsandpb

I recently caught myself thinking “don’t judge me” while scarfing baby carrots in peanut butter in a Walmart parking lot. My training hunger has caused me to reach social rock bottom.

Current Conversation

I did an interview with Drumfit on my blogging and running. I talk about how I started running, why all my recipes have 3 ingredients and the best part of blogging. (Hint. It’s you.)  You can give it a listen here.

Current Issue

One of my coworkers has a candy table. I dislike candy so that is not an issue. Until she brought in the world’s largest bulk bag of chocolate covered peanut M&Ms.

I’m just over here dying from a sugar overdose.

Current Frustration

Lack of time. I would like to think I am fairly efficient but my days are normally scheduled wall to wall from 5 AM to 9-10 PM. I love being busy but things are getting a little ridiculous this month.

Currently Wearing

My trisuit for the Ironman 70.3. So excited to rock the Performance Project gear out on the course.

Something new I tried

Ax throwing! My friend turned 26 and for his birthday, we headed to a place in Toronto that offered it.

axthrowingSomething new I’m going to try

The Goodlife Fitness City Chase. I have found a partner and I am all set to tackle 6 hours of awesome in June!

This looks like the most fun ever. If you want to join the fun, you can sign up here.

Coolest new discovery

Bandit Brewery in Toronto.

bandit brewery

Cute little brewery that just opened up in Toronto’s west end. I tried a sample of their finest and they have the CUTEST little glasses.

SO many great things in this post! First, those glasses from the brewery are adorable (and when has beer EVER been adorable!?) Second, carrots and PB? Given the fact that a bag of baby carrots is my car journey staple, you know I’ll never judge you for that. And third, that concert photo is…. well, above and beyond! (#suchabadpunbutidontcare) HAPPY FRIDAY, GORGEOUS!

I’ve been dipping green beans into peanut butter, so yeah…no shame.
