COFFEE DATE

Mar20

March Coffee Date

Ok. Time to have another coffee date. This is appropriate because I had a coffee saturated weekend. Yesterday alone, I visited three different coffee shops because it was the weekend and it is my favourite place to have good conversations with the awesome people in my life. So, let’s have a good conversation, shall we?

Something I am thinking about

My youngest sister (who is currently in Miami getting treatment for her eating disorder) and I were having a text conversation about how critical we are of ourselves in photos. I try to have an authentic Instagram account and I actually routinely post photos that I don’t love of myself as a challenge to try and disconnect from the concept of a “good” photo of me versus a “bad” photo of me and instead just see it as just a picture of me. Full stop. I want to treat myself with the same respect and kindness that I do when I see photos of other people.

Speaking of which

Today – I wish you all nothing but pure, simple happiness!

Currently eating

Everything. Training hunger is real. Here are some of my favourite things I have eaten in the past month.

This somehow makes my water taste like candy, but in a good way. I have been adding it to my afternoon water bottles and loving it!

Currently Watching

Super League Triathlon. Macca has completely outdone himself and this weekend, Mark and I were glued to the screen watching the coverage of the event. Such a high quality production and worth watching.

Currently Listening

No idea why but this song is my jam for my high-intensity work on the bike these days. Love the Above & Beyond remix of it.

Favourite photo taken this month

It was a toss-up..

Getting to the stage in my life where not only do I truly love hanging out with my mom, but I am becoming painstakingly aware that we may be exactly alike.

The women’s bike clinics with Liv Giant and my local bike shop. If you are a local female, interested in or like biking and are free on Wednesday night at 6:15 PM, come to Ziggys Bike Shop in Kitchener for a free bike fit (bring your bike) and chat with a few of us on some of the secrets we have learned for your riding. I am handing the off-road component (and I have lots to share after my recent race with 170 miles of mountain biking). If you need any more information, send me an email.

Favourite Podcast

I am really enjoying Christy Harrison’s podcast this month for reinforcing body positivity in a culture that isn’t as kind.

Ooh I loved reading all this Jess! Those photos of you and your mom are pure GOLD and I’m laughing to myself because I can imagine what the conversations must have been when they were taken. Regarding the food, is that brunch from Cora’s?! It looks divine! No shame in consuming all the things… eat for the hunger to come, right? 😉 MISS YOU! xo
