Momentum Mondays: Adapting
Three cheers to hitting the ground running. I just found out that I may need to move this weekend (long story) so this week will be another one of taking life events as they come.
This past weekend, I took in a concert on Friday night. The Broods in case you are a music lover.
We had a farewell party for Angela because she leaves this Friday for Vancouver! Before that, we headed to the 2XU show room to snag some beautiful wetsuits for the season. I will be reviewing it in the future.
Last week was another incredibly stressful week so I adapted my training accordingly. When life stress hits and I don’t have enough time to get in the volume of training, I make every workout as quality as possible.
I feel as if I struck a solid balance between managing stress and knocking out some solid work, especially as it was the second last hard training week before Boston!
MONDAY : 13 KM interval training
WEDNESDAY: 9 KM EASY RUN
THURSDAY: 20 KM tempo run
SUNDAY: 28 KM long run
For a girl who normally takes easy days instead of rest days, this week was a little bizarre for me but my training felt strong and as I have mentioned before, sometimes it is important to adjust your training when you are dealing with a lot of stress.
How about you? Do you make alterations to your training during stressful times or do you power through?
Have you ever needed to move in a week? Make me feel better and tell me about it!
