Momentum Monday: Low Impact Workout For Runners
Good morning and welcome to another week! It was a GORGEOUS weekend in South-Western Ontario and even though I wasn’t able to attend the races I had planned due to wanting to be as cautious as possible until I get the all-clear from my sports doctor, I made the most of it.
Friday night, I headed out to Kitchener for the first ever Run Kitchener Mile. I was joined by two of my colleagues from work and they both did an amazing job!
After that, I biked to a local BBQ with some friends and picked up my car. It was a solid week of biking to work and it helped me maintain training volume while I wait for the final results of my tests. I find out this week and will keep you posted.
Saturday morning, I headed to a local event that truly captures the essence of the area that I grew up in. It is called the Amish Auction and it is incredible to experience. I try to go every year because they sell everything from any animal you can imagine to antiques to mini cars?
Aside from that, I met up with some friends, did quite a bit of swimming and had a few campfires. I went home on Saturday night – my parents have just installed a new patio and it is amazing for summer nights.
I also fit in an amazing high intensity, low impact workout this weekend. I had a number of requests from readers who are struggling with injuries right now and I thought I would share one of my current favourite workouts to maintain fitness but still keep impact at a minimum.
I did it on the elliptical, but it can be adopted on the stationary bike as well.
Enjoy! It is a difficult one!
Don’t forget to enter my 2 contests this week:
1. 3 bottles of my absolute FAVOURITE pain reliever rub for runners
2. An entry to the CanFitPro World Fitness Expo valued at $388
Also, this weekend, I will be headed to the 5 Peaks Albion Hills race and I would love for you to join me. Sign up by this Thursday and receive a discount with the code JESSICA.
What did you do this weekend?
What is your favourite low-impact workout?

Hey Jessica, great meeting you at the BBQ Friday night. Believe it or not I just saw someone driving one of those mini car scooter things on Sunday! Love your blog 🙂

Ok, your auction photos made me smile so huge because I can totally see the two of you there, and it made me think of that conversation we had in the car about all of the sayings we had growing up as kids. Tell John I hope he’s all healed up soon! 🙂
