Crossing the Endurance Athlete Off Your Gift List
Hi hi friends.
How about a midweek Christmas shopping reminder? I have been pretty great with getting mine done but I have a few finishing touches to pull together. If you are anything like me, the hardest thing in the world is knowing what to GET people on your list.
There are a ton of great gift guides out there, but I thought I would share some of my absolutely favourite products and services specifically for the endurance athlete on your list. AND just a note that this is not my personal list because you people are enough – I am just wanting to help a friend out and share some ideas of what to get all of those beautiful active people in your life this year!
To make it as easy as possible, I have separated it out by price.
$50 OR LESS
Yurbuds – These are the only headphones I use when I run with music. It keeps your headphones secure and the only thing you need to focus on is keeping your running pace.
Running Books –
My Amazon wishlist is always like a thousand deep of amazing running books, but some of my most highly recommended running books are this awesome running science book by Alex Hutchison, How Bad Do You Want It by Matt Fitzgerald, Believe Training Journal by Lauren Fleshman, and Racing Weight by Matt Fitzgerald.
Foam Roller or The Stick – My cat chewed my foam roller into oblivion but I still use it every single day and most of my friends can attest that I don’t go anywhere without The Stick to roll out my muscles. You can always give them a lacrosse ball as well. They will know what to do…
Good socks – I love my New Balance socks or Bombas, a company that I just discovered this year! (Stay tuned for a giveaway with them coming up in the New Year!)
Run fuel – I love my Genuine Health protein powder for post workout, Nuun Hydration for my electrolytes while I workout and GUs for training fuel. They have some crazy amazing flavours like Maple Bacon so it makes great stocking stuffers!
Magazine subscription to a running magazine- Some of my favourite subscriptions that I get are Trail Runner and Canadian Running Magazine.
$50-100
Sign them up for a race! Some of my favourites are the 5 Peaks run series and the Run Waterloo series.
Sports Massage – Enough said. I don’t know a single runner in my life who gets enough massages.
Strava Premium – Because nothing spells out runner love than more data.
Compression socks – I love training and racing in my CEP Compression socks.
$100+
Running shoes. I am currently loving the Vazees. Look for a review soon. (Just make sure you pick out their size first…)
GPS watch. Polar just released their latest watch, the A360. This is a sexy, waterproof watch IS THE FIRST to have both a wrist-based heart rate monitor and Polar personalized training guidance, as well 24/7 activity tracking. It even has smartwatch features like smart notifications and a color touchscreen. SOLD.
Running Clothes. Because no one has enough of that. Some of my favourites I run in are here and here.
Happy shopping!
