Momentum Monday: RUMBLE Giveaway

Hey there, friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I got in a solid long run and it was hands down the best long run of 2015. Everything felt great and 24 km sailed by. I ate a bowl of Love Grown cereal before and that was new for me. I am going to try it again for a future run.

I also grabbed coffee at Goodness Me! with the amazing Alyssa. One of the awesome parts of blogging is the people you meet and it was fun to geek out about endurance athletics with her.

Other than that, I went on a winter hike and played some games with friends. All in all, a really fun social weekend to cap off another solid training week.

Last Week’s Training:

Monday: REST

Tuesday: 13 KM treadmill run – 800 repeats.

Wednesday: Easy 9 KM treadmill run

Thursday: 12 KM treadmill run with 8 KM tempo

Friday: 30 minutes rowing machine and stair master, 30 minutes weights

Saturday: 24 KM outdoor long run

Sunday:

It was a good week of training and I felt healthy and strong throughout. I missed my yoga session due to a work event, but I am hoping to get in a good stretch session this week.

One thing that I do as soon as possible after a long run is to get 25 G of protein into my system as soon as possible. The primary goal post-workout is to provide your body with an immediate fuel source to prevent it from breaking down muscle tissue for energy. For this reason, I always make sure to have some fast digestible carbs in my post workout meal as well.

If I am at home within an hour of a hard workout, I will make a smoothie but at races or when I am on the road which is more often than not, I reach for a more portable fuel source.

I have spoken on my love for Rumble before as a great midnight snack for endurance athletes who are struck with training hunger but I wanted to give you a chance to try it for yourself.

I keep a couple bottles in the fridge and have them to refuel after workouts, as a delicious dessert and occasionally as a milk replacement in cereal because life is short. I also like the Dutch Cocoa warm as a hot chocolate and the Vanilla Maple with coffee as a latte.

It has squeaky clean ingredients and it tastes like a milkshake. I have said this to a few dubious friends who are not athletes and I have made them try it and without fail, they respond with “This is good. Like…GOOD!”

Consider this as me doing the same to you! Enter by telling me whether you are a chocolate or vanilla lover and give Rumble a like on Twitter and Facebook.

Bonus entries for subscribing to my newsletter (I have some awesome discount codes and giveaways specifically for my newsletter subscribers and I have a bunch of new things planned for the spring) and giving me a like on Facebook.

I’m 100% a vanilla dude. It’s been that way my whole life: vanilla milkshakes, ice cream, protein bars/ powder, desserts, etc. I’m hooked on vanilla, but still rarely dabble with chocolate some times.

I also had a great long run this weekend. 26 km for my 26th birthday! I quickly made a smoothie after my run but would love to try Rumble for a more on-the-go recovery drink. I love chocolate everything so thinking chocolate Rumble would be delish!
