My Christmas Gift to You

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of you lovely people. This was all scheduled to go out on Christmas morning and then for some odd reason, WordPress decided to eat it.

For your patience, here are some scenes from my Christmas:

Christmas morning run with Dad

I wait all year for these cinnamon rolls. I may be biased, but I think my mom makes the best ones in the world.

Never gets old...

Never gets old…

It has been an incredible year and I am so excited for what 2016 holds. I have so many exciting plans for the blog, for races, for experiences and for becoming better but more on that later.

For now, I am just enjoying the incredibly unseasonable weather we are having in Southwestern Ontario. The first thing I did when I left work for the holidays was put on a pair of shorts (!) and go on a run.

FullSizeRenderIt was my first attempt at any speed since I began my off season and it was a humbling experience. I was just not feeling it but it just shows me that I have so much room for improvement.

It also has something to do with the fact that I have not been sleeping much these days. A deep issue with FOMO combined with a plethora of holiday parties means I have been cutting back on both sleep and my workouts. I always give myself a free pass in the holiday season because life is meant to be lived, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have some weapons in my arsenal to attack fatigue and keep me going strong.

Christmas Eve was such a gorgeous day that I decided to take advantage of the gorgeous sunshine, despite the 50 km/hr winds and headed out on a cycle.

I had a busy morning of last minute shopping, gift wrapping and feeling generally underslept so I had smoothie with some of my Genuine Health Extra Energy in Cappucino.

IMG_0583

I love the pick me up from it and in the summer, I use it to make healthy iced coffee. You get the energy boost without the crash or added sugar.

I can’t let it be Christmas without giving you a gift which is why I am partnering with Genuine Health and Goodness Me! (which is where I buy my Genuine Health products) to give a reader one to try.

It comes in Cappucino and Orange (which I love plain, mixed with water because it tastes like orange juice without the sugar!). Just leave a comment letting me know which flavour you would want to try.

I will be announcing the winner on Monday, January 11. I am going to have an altered blog posting schedule for the next couple weeks because I am headed to go on vacation, leaving today! There will be lots of running, surfing, camping on the beach and exploring and although I will not be three posts a week here, you can follow my adventures on my Instagram.

I’m all about that cappuccino flavor. Coffee everything for life. Also, those cinnamon rolls…yes. I believe they are the best. They look amazing. As do you and your sisters. Good genes you three have!

I’m all about the cappuccino flavour! As a devout iced-coffee fan I can see this going down perfectly after my 6am spin classes when energy and caffeine are top of mind! Merry Christmas!

Looks like you had a beautiful christmas time with your family 🙂

Is Genuine Health a vegan/gluten free product? I am always curious to try new ones especially when someone I know can vouch for them! Definitely would be into the cappuccino flavour 🙂

Hope you have the happiest of new years!
