Goals for November 2015

It is November which means it’s time to attack some goals. I ended up not setting any new goals for October because I was focusing on rest and recovery, but let’s review some of the month highlights, shall we?

Did my first 24 hour adventure race and finished 2nd Coed Team

Went to Ohio for my cousin’s wedding and did one long run and a whole lot of dancing

Went to a Tove Lo Concert

Current favourite song? “I Like ‘Em Young” – SOOOO catchy and incredibly inappropriate lyrics to be singing while running outside.

Ran Scotiabank Half Marathon

Filmed the next group of episodes for Fit Friday. If you missed last week, you can watch it here:

Ran the Gatineau half marathon and set the course record

It was such a fun month. Looking to what’s up for my November goals:

Do a final adventure race of the year. (This was supposed to be my final race, but I keep getting talked into new events. I cannot honestly say I am done with races for 2015 but at least I am admitting this… it is the first step.)

Begin heavy lifting again – One of the most important things I do during my off season is regain some of the muscle I lose over a hard year of racing and competing. I will be back to Goodlife Fitness to resume my regular lifting program and get strong for my 2016 race season.

Begin a cycling/triathlon training clinic – My coach works with a number of triathletes and is holding a weekly clinic which I will be utilizing for cross training as I start easing back into proper training. Cycling is amazing cross training for runners and I keep falling more and more in love with the sport.

Season of Galas – This November seems to be where the majority of my work related events fall so I have to get some serious dress shopping in.

...the food sucks, the people suck and I have ZERO FUN.

Because Phaneuf has already seen this one…

Finish Christmas Shopping – Speaking of shopping, I hate being last minute on Christmas shopping or else you WILL be getting a gift card from me. November 31 will be my hard deadline for my gifts.

Cook from scratch – I don’t even know what happened the last number of months but it was survival mode. I was eating conference food, convenience food and processed food so my goal is to get back on the fresh food bandwagon for November. I already am knocking it out of the park because this week alone, I have made homemade almond butter, homemade salsa and this ridiculous sweet potato lentil soup. Basically, if it is healthy and can be made in the blender, food processor or crock pot – I will be making it this month.

What are your goals for November?

Best crockpot recipes? (I’m serious. I want them all)

YAY for cross training and getting back in the saddle (literally!!) I am SO proud of you for your race this past weekend and am excited to hear more about how the tri clinic goes. I’ve been spinning like a demon these days after a long 8 months of riding on my own on the trainer and it feels amazing. And I’m so with you on the Christmas shopping deadline. I WILL be done by the end of this month!

Awesome list of goals! I wish I wasn’t such a bum! haha! I have a HUGE extended family and I can honestly say I am not strong enough to turn down all the free goodies I will be offered at least bi monthly over the next 2 months, but my numero uno goal is to lose up to 60 lbs next year! Lol!
